Welder Training (Fairbanks)

The Plumbers & Pipefitters UA Local 375 is seeking interested individuals for an 18 week tuition free advanced welding course. Participants will be provided training in various pipe welding methods as required in pipeline construction, including associated classroom instruction. Students who satisfactorily complete the course work and successfully pass the downhill pipe qualification tests may be referred to the Local Union for dispatch.

All applicants are encouraged to have previous welding and construction experience. Applicants may be required to interview and/or complete a skills evaluation before selections. Selected participants will be expected to pass a drug screening as a condition of acceptance and may be subjected to a physical abilities exam as a condition of employment. While in training participants will be required to provide their own housing and transportation.

Classes are scheduled to begin August 5, 2013 and will be held Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Fairbanks Pipeline Training Center. Participants will be expected to attend all training sessions made available to them. Welding and safety gear will be provided.
