How would you like to spend the day on the golf course, while helping raise money for scholarships? Volunteers are needed for the 2014 Morris Thompson Memorial Golf Classic, to be held Thursday and Friday, June 12 and 13 in Fairbanks, Alaska.Image

A total of 15 – 20 volunteers are needed on Friday, June 13 from 7:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Chena Bend Golf Course on Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Volunteers will be placed at the different holes along the course to spot balls for the golfers.

“This will ultimately keep the golfing moving along more efficiently,” said Charlene Marth, volunteer coordinator for the golf classic.

Last year’s golf classic raised a record-setting $115,600 and drew 120 golfers, 150+ sponsors and more than two dozen volunteers, who all came together to benefit the Morris Thompson Scholarship Fund, an endowed fund that provides scholarships to support the efforts of hard-working Alaska Native students.
